Level 2 Country: UK UK CPD MINUTES: 90

If you have large groups of learners requiring this training we encourage the use of online training.

Description & Learning objectives

This course has been designed to help carers understand peer pressure – and in particular, the negative impacts that can lead to less-than-ideal outcomes for young people.

It will look at the role of peer pressure within alcohol and substance use and in issues such as sex and sexting. It will also look at various scenarios that impact on peer pressure, and how young people can be assisted by adults to resist these behaviours.

The learning outcomes for this course are as follows:

  • To understand what peer pressure is
  • To look at peer pressure, drugs and alcohol
  • To explore peer pressure, sex and sexting
  • To consider other scenarios where peer pressure may occur
  • To discuss how to help teenagers resist peer pressure

This course is CPD accredited and meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.

It is also tailored to where you live in the UK, adhering to each country’s own individual regulators - namely: Ofsted, The Care Inspectorate (Wales), The Care Inspectorate (Scotland), and The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (Northern Ireland).

If you have 5 or more learners who require this training, you might like to consider our face-to-face option instead.

Because each of our courses is created by a specialist within this sector, we have the expertise to tailor any course to your specific needs. You can even arrange for your own documentation policies or procedures to be included in your Learning Management System.
